Uno de los más claros opositores en el Congreso de Estados Unidos a las medidas preventivas contra el coronavirus ha dado positivo al Covid-19.

El republicano Louie Gohmert no podrá acompañar al presidente Donald Trump en su gira por Texas. Político.com reportó la mañana del miércoles que se contagió de coronavirus.

Gohmert tenía previsto abordar esta mañana el Air Force One junto al mandatario para el viaje de Trump a Texas.

De acuerdo a medios estadounidenses, Gohmert, de 66 años y quien forma parte de la Cámara de Representantes desde 2005, ha sido visto sin mascarilla por los pasillos del Capitolio en una claro desafío a las normas de seguridad e higiene para evitar el contagio masivo de la pandemia.

En entrevistas pasadas con CNN, aseveró que usará cubrebocas solo si se contagia.

Los Estados Unidos ya han superado las 150,000 muertes de Covid-19 y 4.3 millones de infecciones.

Los demócratas en el Congreso dicen que están considerando realizar pruebas obligatorias.
