Leonardo DiCaprio, uno de los grandes favoritos a alzarse con una estatuilla en la edición de los Oscar de este año, ya se hizo hoy con el reconocimiento a Mejor Actor del Critic's Choice Awards por su protagónico en The Revenant.

En el filme dirigido por el mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu, Leonardo DiCaprio interpreta a un explorador, 'Hugh Glass', que tras ser atacado por un oso mientras cazaba es dado por muerto por los miembros de su propio grupo y abandonado a su suerte. El papel ya le valió al actor un Globo de Oro.

El Critic's Choice Award a Mejor Actriz fue para Brie Larson por su interpretación en Room, que ya la había hecho merecedora también del Globo de Oro a mejor actriz dramática.

[NOTA ORIGINAL]Este domingo 17 de enero se llevará a cabo la edición 21 de los 'Critic Choice Awards' en The Barker Hangar en Santa Mónica, California.

Los galardones son otorgados por la Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), la mayor organización de críticos cinematográficos de EE.UU. y Canadá, y es después de los Óscar y los Globos de Oro, la tercera entrega de premios con más importancia en el mundo del cine.

La película 'Mad Max: Fury Road' es la que lidera la lista de nominaciones con trece categorías que incluyen "Mejor Película", "Mejor Actriz", "Mejor Director", entre otras.

En el mundo televisivo la serie 'Fargo' es sin duda una de las más destacadas compitiendo en la categoría de Mejor Película para Televisión o Serie Limitada gracias, sin duda, a sus destacados actores, pues tanto sus protagónicos Kirsten Dunst como Patrick Wilson están nominados como Mejor Actor/Actriz.

El mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu será el representante de Latinoamérica en la ceremonia estadounidense. Nominado como Mejor Director por su película The Revenant, la cual también compite por el premio para la Mejor Película así como en la categoría de Mejor Cinematografía por la labor de su compañero incondicional, Emmanuel Lubezki, sumando un total de nueve nominaciones para la película, entre las que destacan las apariciones de sus actores Leonardo DiCaprio y Tom Hardy como Mejor Actor y Mejor Actor de Reparto.
